Membership Types

Please read the membership category descriptions below to determine which membership application you should complete.

Active Members

Active Membership Application Form

1. Hold M.D. or Ph.D. Degree
2. Have documented evidence of accomplishments in neural regeneration.
3. Should demonstrate documented evidence of continuing research in neural regeneration.
4. It is required that candidates for active membership have published at least one paper in a peer reviewed publication.
5. Candidates must be proposed and seconded by active members in good standing.
6. Rights and duties:

They may vote, hold office, and serve on committees of the Society. Failure to pay dues for three (3) years shall result in termination of membership unless absence is excused by the Society.

Associate Members

Associate Membership Application Form

1. Shall consist of individuals with an interest in the field of neural regeneration who do not qualify for active membership.
2. Rights and duties:
   1. May attend scientific meetings and social functions
   2. May serve on committees
   3. Cannot vote or hold offices
   4. Failure to pay dues will result in membership termination

Candidate Membership

Candidate Membership Application Form

1. Qualifications: Candidate Membership.
   1. Shall express an interest in the field of neural regeneration
   2. Applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a residency/PhD program that includes neural regeneration training or research. 
   3. Candidate membership status may be extended for one year beyond board certification (MD’s) or for two years after a PhD degree is conferred.
2. Application Procedure.
   1. Are to be sponsored by an active member.
   2. Are to fully complete the written application form and submit it to the ASPN office.
3. Rights and Privileges for Candidate Membership.
   1. Candidate members receive reduced ASPN membership fees and reduced scientific meeting registration fees.
   2. May attend scientific meetings and social functions.
   3. May not serve on committees.
   4. May not vote or hold office.
   5. This category is valid for up to five (5) years.
